While the people at Carchex were very helpful during the purchase of my Permium level plan, there are a lot of exclusionary provisions once you get your warranty that Carchex did not mention in the purchase phase (I did ask). Also beware that it is not Carchex who will be handling your claim, my policy was handed off to an intolerable company called Royal Administration Services.

The people at Royal are as bad as it gets. I uploaded pictures of the exclusion provisions so you can't see what you're getting into before you purchase.

I showed these provisions to the service manager at the repair facility, and his statement was that ever written the statements such that almost any repair can be excluded . I will be contacting Carchex today to see if they will be honoring their policy but my stance right now is it's not worth the paper it's written on.

Reason of review: Plan is not what it presents itself to be .

Monetary Loss: $5000.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

CARCHEX Cons: And then deny all claims, Erroneous information that was given.

Location: Lacy Lakeview, Texas

Thanks for sharing your feedback about your recent claim experience. I understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

In review of your policy, you purchased your contract on 12/14/2015. You were sent an electronic copy of your contract and confirmation of your purchase on 12/14/2015 which you accessed twice on 12/15/2015 and again on 12/26/2015. In addition, a hard copy of your contract was mailed to you on 12/15/2015.

Your contract purchase included a 30 day money back guarantee to review all of the terms & conditions in your contract to ensure it meets your coverage needs and allow you to cancel for a full refund in the event you had any concerns about your coverage.

On your sales call at the time of purchase, your sales representative read a closing script which is required on every purchase that emphasizes to all of our customers to review the contract and call us with any questions or concerns. In addition, our representatives are required to disclose that no pre-existing conditions will be covered by the contract as part of this closing script.

In review of your claim, you visited your repair shop 19 days after and 843 miles after the required 30 day AND 1000 mile waiting period. The service contract administrator, Royal Administration, sent out an independent 3rd party inspection to verify the cause of failure your repair shop called in.

Your repair facility diagnosed the issue as a stretched timing chain & an oil pump chain that your repair shop reported to be very loose.

A stretched timing chain could not have occurred in the 843 miles driven after the waiting period and it is a long term failure that would have existed during the 1000 mile waiting period, thus making this repair a long term wear and tear (pre-existing) repair under the terms of the service contract. At the time your claim was denied, you spoke with our CARCHEX Claims Support Manager who escalated your concerns and had the claim reviewed a second time by the contract administrator.

After careful review, your claim remained denied due to a pre-existing condition. Please keep in mind, the purpose of an extended vehicle protection plan is to cover the cost of new vehicle failures that occur during the term of the contract.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to me at (877)227-2439 X 1204. Jason Nierwienski Customer Service Manager

99.9% of all car failures are from "wear and tear." This response from the company basically means they cover nothing and they stole your money

CARCHEX- so you say that even if the part fails after the waiting period it will not be covered? this person drove 843 after the 1000 mile wait period.

What would you consider a "safe" time for this part to fail? If this is the case then all conditions would be considered "pre existing" because that is normal wear and tear of the car. If the part fails after the wait period I don't understand how it could not be covered.

You could use this excuse for every single part on the car if this is the case. "Long term wear and tear" makes your warranty useless.

That is why I need other people to know so they don't they don't waste there money, and think they have something that they really don't.
